Maintenance tracking

Aircraft maintenance tracking software for small fleets

AVops tracks what is due on every aircraft, by hours and by calendar. It logs every snag and records every sign-off, so an aircraft’s service history is a system record, not a filing cabinet. It is built for flight schools and charter operators with one to ten aircraft.

The problem with tracking maintenance in a spreadsheet

A spreadsheet can list when a check is due. It can’t update itself when an aircraft flies, warn the person booking the next sortie, or show who changed a status and why. So the real answer to “can this aircraft fly?” ends up in a group chat, and the history ends up in a binder.

AVops links maintenance to the flying. Hours and cycles come from the flight logs, the forecast moves as the aircraft flies, and a grounding shows up at booking and dispatch straight away.

What AVops tracks

  • Checks due by hours and calendar. Forecast against the schedule your engineers set, such as 50-hour, 100-hour and annual inspections.
  • Airframe hours and cycles taken from real flight logs, not typed in twice.
  • Snag reporting. Pilots and instructors raise defects as they find them, with the time and aircraft attached.
  • AOG escalation. Setting an aircraft AOG or grounded warns anyone who tries to book or dispatch it.
  • Work orders with engineer sign-off. Each work order is opened, worked and released with a named sign-off.
  • Append-only service history. Every entry is timestamped and attributed, and nothing is silently overwritten.
  • Document vault. Registration, airworthiness and insurance documents per aircraft, with expiry warnings.
  • Separate schedules by type of flying. Training and charter aircraft can each follow their own checks and intervals.

How it works day to day

  1. 1

    A check comes due

The dashboard shows what is due soon, by remaining hours or days, before anyone has to go looking.

  2. 2

    A snag is raised

The pilot logs the defect. If it grounds the aircraft, the status changes and bookings are warned.

  3. 3

    Engineers do the work

A work order records the job and the engineer signs it off. The aircraft returns to service on the record.

  4. 4

    The history is ready

The aircraft’s full maintenance history exports as a CSV or PDF whenever someone asks for it.

For the thinking behind this, read the guide to tracking maintenance due dates and grounding decisions.

What AVops is not

AVops is not a full MRO suite. It does not do parts inventory, component overhaul shops or line maintenance for airlines. It is built for an operator who wants to know what is due, what is grounded and who signed what, without a spreadsheet.

Your maintenance schedule stays with your engineers and your approved programme. AVops tracks against it and keeps the record; the airworthiness decision remains a qualified human’s.

AVops is pre-launch. The MVP is built and being shown to operators now. We’ll tell you exactly what’s ready in the demo.

Questions

Can it track checks by both hours and calendar date?
Yes. Each check can be due by flight hours, by calendar date, or both, using the hours recorded in the flight logs.
Who can sign off maintenance?
Access is controlled by role. Your organisation decides who can raise snags, change an aircraft’s status and sign off work.
Can we export an aircraft’s history?
Yes. Any aircraft’s history, including status changes, snags, work orders and sign-offs, exports as a CSV or PDF.
